Dr. Kent Rohrig, Anna Brahatcek, Robert Nowak and Board of Trustees of Arlington, NE.
Us here at Pitbull Security Taskforce are taking the time to write to you in regards to a recent news article. Banning of a specific breed is not an answer or a fix. You will doom the lives of innocent pitbulls and their families. Blaming one specific breed for what a select few has done is uncivilized and inhuman. You cannot hold a breed responsible for a few irresponsible pet owners. You must hold the owners responsible. Putting in to legislation a statue that holds a dog and owner responsible for his/her actions (if he/she is not on their property) is another good way to handle it. Attached to this e-mail is a great sample law that we here at Pitbull Security Taskforce have come up with. Please take the time to review it and hope it helps.
All it would take is for one resident who has depression, anger issues etc. to say that their pitbull is an emotional support animal and you would not be able to remove that animal. That animal will then be protected by the Fair Housing Act. Individuals are not required to provide any certification proving the animal is for emotional support. In closing, I hope you find this letter informative. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact us, there is a link on our website where you can send an e-mail directly to us.

Us here at Pitbull Security Taskforce are taking the time to write to you in regards to a recent news article. Banning a specific breed is not an answer or a fix. You will doom the lives of innocent pitbulls and their families. Blaming one specific breed for what a select few was thought to have done is uncivilized and inhuman. ." You must hold the owners responsible (leash laws for example). Putting in to legislation a statue that holds a dog responsible for his/her actions (if he/she is not on their property) is another good way to handle it.
A statue that I would look at putting into legislation is on tethering. David Saunders Jr. stated that he tethered his dog outside unattended. Tethering has been proven to be a high-risk factor in serious dog bites and attacks. Tethering is unsafe for dogs and for the public, and it is important for officials to understand this connection, so they can incorporate tethering regulations into effective community dog management strategies.
Montreal’s ban is illegal. Per lawyer Julius Grey from the Montreal-based coalition of lawyers and experts in animal behavior. "This is very serious. It's not an object, it's not the right to seize a car — it's a right to take a member of your family and that should not be permitted." It would be the same as banning all teenagers because you have a few that are bad.
Are you going to ban an individual for starting a sawmill business? On June 2, 1913, there was a sawmill that exploded and it killed 6 people. How about banning machinery? Seems they cause more damage in that area rather than a certain breed of dog. On June 18, 1946, you had a forest fire that destroyed 46 homes and 2 schools that was caused by a passing train. Again, on August 18, 2016 a forest fire was started by an ATV. Fortunate for everyone, it was subdued quick enough before it could spread.
In closing, I hope you find this letter informative. We will be watching Glovertown, NL closely. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact us, there is a link on our website where you can send an e-mail directly to us.
Letter to Lula, GA

Mayor Milton Turner
City of Lula, GA
6067 Chattahoochee St.
Lula, GA 30554
Us here at Pitbull Security Taskforce are taking the time to write to you in regards to a recent city council meeting. Banning a specific breed is not an answer or a fix. You will doom the lives of innocent pitbulls and their families. Blaming one specific breed for what a select few has done is uncivilized and inhuman. There are 16 registered sex offenders inside the city of Lula, GA. That puts you at a ratio of 177 to 1. Per resident Mere Barbee, she seen 4 “pitbulls” in one day. (If we take her word that they were pitbulls), that is a ratio of 708 to 1. Seems to be a little low to worry about a ban.
Atlanta handled their dilemma correctly. They arrested the owner of the dog and is charging him. You cannot hold a breed responsible for a few irresponsible pet owners. You must hold the owners responsible. Putting in to legislation a statue that holds a dog responsible for his/her actions (if he/she is not on their property) is another good way to handle it. It seems that Barbee has a continuing problem with animals just coming onto her property. In January 2015, she was attack by a cat because she was trying to catch it. Afraid since there was a school six blocks away. Now she states that this dog will not come on her property again. Under no circumstances should any resident shoot at an animal because it is on their property. Especially since there is a school only six blocks away from her residence. You cannot kill for trespassing!
If you did bring into legislation BSL, you would eventually have a bigger problem on your hands. We will be watching Lula and the county of Hall closely. Below you will find some statistics which you can also find more on our website.
• There’s No Evidence That Banning Breeds has Any Impact on Dog Bites.
Period.
• B.S.L. Wastes Money.
Enforcement costs a fortune, from staffing to litigation to the price of “unnecessarily” killing dogs in shelters. Best Friends Animal Society even offers a calculator that estimates fiscal impact. In Miami, which still enforces B.S.L., it costs $603,445 annually … with no change in the count of dog bites.
• Dog Bite Fatalities are Extremely Rare.
Between the years of 1999 and 2006, an average of 27 Americans died each year because of a dog attack, per a Journal of the American Medical Association report. Meanwhile, estimates suggest an average of 40 to 50 Americans die each year from just lightning strikes.
• Most Bans Affect Pitbulls, but Other Breeds Can Be Included.
Other breeds that can also be affected by B.S.L. include American Bulldogs, Mastiffs, etc. (or dogs that just look similar).
Additionally, a “pitbull” isn’t even an actual breed. Instead, it’s a term used to describe a stockier type of terrier that includes the American Staffordshire Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and mixes of the above.
• Pitbulls Rank High on Temperament Tests.
Pitbulls score extremely high on temperament tests. Per the American Temperament Testing Society, Inc., the American Pit Bull Terrier achieved a passing rate of 86.8 percent (better than collies, golden retrievers, and beagles), which means they rank fourth highest of the 122 breeds tested.
